DOST — a new chapter in the development of the Uzbekistan automotive industry

April 30, 2025
Within the framework of the «Innoprom.Central Asia» exhibition, it was announced that the production of commercial vehicles under the DOST brand is planned to start in Uzbekistan. The project is initiated by Jizzakh Commercial Vehicles. The goal is to form a comprehensive ecosystem in the segment of commercial vehicles in Uzbekistan. It is not only about producing commercial cars, but also about creating the expertise to manufacture a wide range of special equipment based on them for various sectors, including isothermal vans, euro platforms, school buses, ambulances, etc.

The project will create new jobs, establish a full-fledged production cycle within the country, develop engineering and technological competencies, and train highly qualified personnel in the field of automobile production and design of vehicle superstructures.

Production is planned to be launched in the Jizzakh Free Economic Zone by the end of 2025.

The project will be implemented in stages:
  • 2025 — start of SKD assembly (large-unit assembly);
  • 2028 — transition to CKD production (small-unit assembly), including welding, painting, and assembly. Localization of a number of components is also planned.
A quality management system that meets international standards will be implemented at the production facility.

All DOST models will meet the climatic and operational characteristics of Uzbekistan, including enhanced cooling, anti-corrosion protection, adaptation to local fuel quality, and redesigned interior layouts to meet the preferences of local carriers.

The DOST dealer network will provide a full range of car servicing.

Brand's exposition within the exhibition framework

At the «Innoprom. Central Asia» exhibition, prototype vehicles are presented:

• an ambulance;

• a tourist bus;

• a refrigerated truck.

DOST Bus

The bus is designed for intercity and tourist transportation. The passenger compartment is designed for 19 passengers. Special attention is paid to comfort and safety. The reinforced body with full glazing and thermal, sound and vibration insulation ensures stability and protection from external factors. The interior trim includes composite panels, a velor ceiling and seats with eco-leather, individual armrests, tables and three-point seat belts. The equipment includes a powerful 10 kW climate control system with distribution throughout the passenger compartment, an multimedia system with an LCD monitor, an electric sliding door and a thoughtful organization of storage spaces. There is a place for luggage — a rear compartment with trim and lighting.

DOST Ambulance

A modern ambulance that combines comfort, functionality, and high cross-country ability, which is especially important when working in difficult areas. The vehicle has high cross-country ability thanks to the Part-time all-wheel drive and an electronically controlled two-stage transfer case. Modern design and ergonomic interior layout create maximum convenience for patients and doctors. The large interior height allows medical staff to work standing up. Thanks to the single-tyre rear axle, the size of the wheel arches is reduced, which does not obstruct doctors’ movement around the interior. All medical furniture is made of metal plastic, which is lightweight, durable, and easy to disinfect and sanitize during operation.

DOST Refrigerated Truck

A cargo vehicle for long-distance transportation of perishable goods. The refrigerated van is equipped with a refrigeration unit capable of maintaining a temperature range from -10 °C to +20 °C inside the body, depending on the type of cargo. Despite its very compact dimensions, the van has a capacity of up to 11.5 cubic meters, and the floor can accommodate up to 5 Euro pallets. The walls of the van body are made of sandwich panels with plastic sheathing, which ensures the durability of the superstructure throughout its service life.

Special Industrial Zone «Jizzakh»: the territory of the future for DOST production

The production base for the new DOST brand will be deployed on the territory of the Special Industrial Zone (SIZ) «Jizzakh». This territory was created in 2013 by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a platform for the development of high-tech industries and attracting investment in the industrial sector. The zone's operation period is at least 30 years, with the possibility of extension.

The main task of the SIZ is to create conditions for effective industrial localization. It is here that it is planned to launch the national production of DOST commercial vehicles with the prospect of developing a line of special equipment.

The industrial zone already has a modern infrastructure providing:

  • access to transport and logistics hubs;
  • connection to engineering communications;
  • tax and customs preferences for residents.
The company is considering all the opportunities that arise from locating production in the free economic zone, including using the existing infrastructure and developing cooperation with local partners for gradual localisation.
