Which innovations are needed by the markets of both countries, and how can technology exchange be ensured for industrial growth? These questions will be addressed during a session organized by the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR) at the "INNOPROM. Central Asia". The event will be attended by representatives of Russian federal authorities, AIRR regions and other subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as regions and relevant departments of Uzbekistan.
The session will be moderated by AIRR Director Alexander Smekalin: "Today, AIRR regions have accumulated significant experience in cooperation with Uzbekistan. We are ready to present our best practices and projects in implementing new technologies and workforce training, outline promising areas for collaboration, and provide recommendations for expanding these initiatives to other regions."
A notable example of partnership is Tatarstan—the absolute leader among Russian regions in establishing interstate technoparks in Central Asia, with the first facilities opened in Uzbekistan by Tatarstan’s technopolis "Khimgrad" in 2022 and 2023. Bashkortostan is implementing joint initiatives in oil and gas chemistry, agriculture, and tourism, more partner projects planned in education and workforce training. Representatives of these republics will participate in the AIRR-organized session, as well as Mordovia, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, and Ulyanovsk regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area will also present experience of partnerships and projects in industrial-economic cooperation between businesses and regions of both countries.
