The Governor expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for Uzbekistan's support in fostering connections with the Penza region. Both parties highlighted that their collaborative efforts reflect the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
Melnichenko emphasized that Uzbekistan ranks among the top three strategic partners of the Penza region. In April 2023, during the Trade Fair 'INNOPROM: Central Asia,' cooperation agreements were signed between the government of Penza and the khokimiyats of Tashkent and Andijan regions.
“We are advancing along the paths set by our presidents, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance. The leaders of our nations place a high priority on strengthening the interregional component of bilateral economic ties, as well as cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, and educational fields,” Melnichenko stated.
In 2022, Penza’s trade turnover with Uzbekistan exceeded one billion rubles, and the Governor expressed optimism for further growth. He proposed to the Prime Minister the potential for Penza-based industrial enterprises to establish production within Uzbekistan’s special economic zones.
The Governor also sees promising opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education and transportation.
