Russia’s share in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover increased by 3.4 percentage points compared to January-July 2023, driven by a 29% rise in trade between the two countries during this period (+$1.5 billion).
The Russian Federation held its position as Uzbekistan’s second-largest foreign trade partner in the first seven months of 2024, with an 18.5% share in the country’s trade turnover.
“The primary foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan from January to July 2024 were China (18.6% share of trade turnover), Russia (18.5%), Qazaqstan (6.2%), Türkiye (4.6%), and the Republic of Korea (3.2%),” reported the press service of the Russian trade mission.
The upcoming 'INNOPROM: Central Asia' Trade Fair is expected to play a significant role in strengthening and expanding cooperation and bilateral trade between Russia and Uzbekistan. Scheduled for April 28-30 in Tashkent, the event will provide a platform for fostering economic and political dialogue between Russia and Central Asian countries.
