Uzbekistan and the SCO: A New Economic Dialogue

Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the session “Horizon 2035: The SCO’s Role as a Global Economic Axis” during the business program at the 2024 INNOPROM Trade Fair in Ekaterinburg.
As a result of this visit, Uzbekistan introduced an initiative to establish a cooperation program aimed at fostering a new economic dialogue within the SCO, incorporating mechanisms for investment promotion and mutual protection across the SCO space. Additionally, Uzbekistan proposed financing mechanisms to support project development and industrial collaboration.
The INNOPROM Trade Fair is well-known to Uzbekistan, as Tashkent has frequently hosted the 'INNOPROM: Central Asia' Trade Fair. This year, the event featured 401 companies from Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus, China, and other countries, showcasing products across sectors including mechanical engineering, metallurgy, information technology, and energy. More than 10,000 visitors attended, highlighting strong interest in industry growth and international cooperation within Uzbekistan.
