The Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, held a meeting with Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov.
During the discussion, they addressed the growth in foreign trade turnover and level of industrial cooperation between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan. The officials emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties and expanding collaborative projects in key industrial sectors.
"Uzbekistan is one our republic's key partners, with whom we cooperate in a wide range of areas, including trade, industry, agriculture, education, and tourism. In the first 11 months of last year, foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan increased by 20%. This is a strong indicator," noted the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov.
He also highlighted ongoing negotiations regarding the establishment of a joint technopark in Uzbekistan, as well as plans to build a cement plant, a soft packaging production facility, and a gas cylinder manufacturing plant in Bashkortostan. The meeting's participants confirmed that several joint projects are currently being developed that will elevate cooperation between the two regions to a new level.
Uzbekistan Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, in turn, emphasized the importance of collaborating in industry, as well as supply chain integration.
"I would like to highlight, in particular, our collaboration in industry. I have seen a large number of enterprises here, including those in the oil and gas and gas processing sectors. Additionally, I want to emphasize the potential of tourism. I would especially like to acknowledge and thank Radiy Faritovich for his efforts in strengthening relations between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan," he stated.
According to Radiy Khabirov, Bashkortostan will continue to implement joint initiatives with Uzbekistan under a roadmap signed last year. He also confirmed plans to visit Uzbekistan as part of a delegation later this year.
Radiy Khabirov led Bashkortostan's delegation at the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair that was held in Ekaterinburg from July 8 to 11, 2024. To demonstrate the region's industrial and technological potential, its exhibition booth showcased a variety of products, services, and innovations from leading enterprises that feature cutting-edge developments from Bashkortostan's industrial sector.
